Terms of Service
The terms on which OFF THE TOOLS quotes for and carries out work. Effective 16 September 2026.
1. Who we are
These terms are between you and OFF THE TOOLS (ABN 98693284525) ("OFF THE TOOLS", "we", "us"). They apply to every quote we give, every job we do and your use of https://www.ptyunlimited.com.au. By accepting a quote or asking us to start work you agree to these terms.
2. Quotes
A written quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise. It covers the work described in it and nothing else. If the job turns out to need extra work, materials or time that could not reasonably be seen when quoting (hidden wiring, damaged cabling, non-compliant existing work, access problems), we will tell you before doing it and agree a price for it.
An estimate is our best guess and is not a fixed price. Prices include GST unless the quote says otherwise.
3. Bookings, access and cancellations
We book a date and a time window. You agree to give us safe, clear access to the work area and to the switchboard, and to keep children and pets clear of it while we work.
If you need to change or cancel a booking, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. Where we attend and cannot do the work because of no access, no power, or the site not being ready, we may charge a call-out fee at our standard rate.
4. Payment
We may ask for a deposit before ordering materials or starting larger jobs; the deposit is shown on the quote. Invoices are due on the date shown on the invoice (our default is 30 days from the invoice date). Where work is done in stages we may invoice each stage.
Overdue amounts may attract interest at 2% per month, and you agree to reimburse our reasonable costs of recovering an overdue amount. Materials remain our property until they are paid for in full, unless they have been installed and become part of the property.
5. Our work and compliance
All electrical work is carried out by appropriately licensed people to the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000) and the relevant state requirements. Where the law requires it we provide a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (or its state equivalent) when the work is complete and paid for.
We may need to isolate power for parts of the job. We will let you know beforehand where we reasonably can.
6. Warranty and the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with a service you are entitled to cancel the service contract and receive a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to a repair or replacement of goods if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
In addition, we warrant our workmanship for 12 months from completion. Products we supply carry their manufacturer's warranty. The workmanship warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by others, misuse, power-supply faults, or work we did not do.
7. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to a job is limited to the price you paid for that job, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost income or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be limited.
You are responsible for making sure that plans, existing wiring, and anything you tell us about the site are accurate. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults or non-compliant work by others unless you have engaged us to fix it.
8. This website
The content of this website is general information and may change without notice. You may not copy our photos, text or logos for your own use without permission. Forms on this site send your details to us so we can respond; how we handle those details is set out in our Privacy Policy.
9. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian state or territory in which the work is carried out, and the courts of that place have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is unenforceable the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the version on this website on the day you accept a quote is the version that applies to that job.
